Applications
The
City of Mustang
does not accept applications unless there is a job
opening within our organization. When applications are
accepted, they may be obtained by visiting the Human
Resources office or Parks & Recreation desk at
Mustang Town Center, 1201 N. Mustang Road, Mustang, OK

or mail.
This application will
be used for all positions within the City unless
notified otherwise. Resumes are only
accepted when accompanied by the City’s application
form.
Applications remain on file for one year, after
which they are destroyed. For
consideration of an application already on file, contact
the office to request the application be submitted for
an open position.

Fire Department Requirements
Our fire department is comprised of both
volunteer and career firefighters. Volunteer
Firefighter applications may be obtained at the Mustang
Fire Department located at 465 W. Highway 152. Career or full
time firefighters are hired from the current list
maintained by Eastern Oklahoma County Technology Center
located at 4601 N. Choctaw Road, Choctaw, OK.
EOCTC administers a written and physical test to
applicants from which participating municipalities are
able to select qualified candidates to interview.

MINIMUM
REQUIREMENTS for Fire Fighters:
1. You
must be at least 21 years of age.
2.
Volunteers
must reside within 3.25 miles of SH 152 and
Mustang
Road. Career firefighters must live within 20
miles of
SH 152 and
Mustang Road in Mustang.
3.
You
must be in good physical condition.
4. You
must have a high school diploma or GED
equivalent.
5. You
must have or be able to obtain a valid Oklahoma State
Driver's
License.
6.
You
must have a driving record acceptable to the City’s
insurance
carrier.
7. Within
the first year of career employment, you must be able to
obtain
National
Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
and
maintain
certification for the duration of employment with the
City of
Mustang.
8. You must obtain Firefighter I
(IFSAC certificate) within the first year.
9. You must be able to pass a rigid
background investigation.
Police Department Requirements
The
City of Mustang
is not accepting applications for Police Officers at
this time.
When an opening occurs, applicants must be able
to meet the minimum qualifications, as listed below, at
the time of the recruitment
process. Police Officer
applications can be obtained through Human
Resources.
Minimum
Qualifications for Police Officers:
1.
You
must be at least 21 years of age
2.
You
must be in good physical condition.
3.
You
must be a United States citizen.
4.
30
or more hours of college credit
are preferred.
5.
You
must have or be able to obtain an Oklahoma State
Driver’s
License.
6.
You
must have a driving record acceptable to the City’s
insurance
carrier.
7.
You
must have an excellent history of personal conduct,
behavior and
employment.
8. You
must have basic knowledge of computer
use.
