SANITATION

The City of Mustang has entered into a new 5 year Inter-Local Agreement with OEMA to provide trash service effective July 1, 2009.

The City of Mustang provides sanitation service to approximately 5,250 residential and commercial customers.

Curbside sanitation service is provided to all residential customers once per week.   In addition, the city holds curbside bulk pickup each spring.  The city holds a fall clean-up each September which does not included curbside service.  For bulk waste throughout the year, a roll-off container is located at Public Services, 520 SW 59th, for residents to drop off their bulk garbage.  The container is accessible during normal office hours, Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.  You must stop by the office and show proof of residence and your current City of Mustang utility bill.  All bulk drop-off items must meet the restrictions for spring cleanup and be placed in the container.  Dumping on the ground around the container is not allowed and is considered littering.

Citizens that pay a monthly utility bill may use the landfill once a quarter from the 1st through the 14th day of March, June, September and December at no charge. The landfill will be open 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to noon. Proof of residency is required. Driver’s license and  address on the current monthly bill must be shown and coincide. A maximum amount of three cubic yards, approximately the amount that would fit inside a pick up bed may be disposed with no charge. Any amount over three cubic yards would be assessed at $10.00 per cubic yard. No construction material or commercial waste will be accepted. At all other times, regular rates and restrictions of the landfill will be charged.

Any questions concerning your sanitation service should be directed to City Hall, 376-4521.
