2008 SUMMER CAMP INFORMATION

REGISTRATION WILL BEGIN FOR CAMP 2008 THE END OF FEBRUARY AND WILL RUN THROUGH MAY 17TH.  ALL REGISTRATION PACKETS WILL BE MAILED OUT TO ALL PARTICIPANTS. TO GET ON THE MAILING LIST, PLEASE E-MAIL DEE COPE AT dcope@cityofmustang.org

PLEASE INCLUDE THE NUMBER OF CHILDREN, THEIR NAMES & ADDRESS TO HAVE PACKET MAILED TO.

 Camp is based on a first come, first served basis once it is open to the general public. Space is limited to first 100 campers, once 100 camper registrations have been received, registration will stop. This camp is for children grades K– 6th of the school year just completed.

MANDATORY PARENT MEETING IS:

THURSDAY, MAY 29TH FROM 7P.M. TO 9P.M. BANQUET ROOM

PARENTS MUST ATTEND OR CHILD CAN NOT ATTEND CAMP.

 

CAMP OPERATES: JUNE 2nd – JUNE 27th

NO CAMP THE WEEK OF:  July 1st

CAMP RESUMES: Session 2 – July 7th – August 8th

Summer Camp: The Recreation Summer Program runs for 8-10 weeks in the summer.  During this time the youth will experience a wide variety of activities. Once a week they will have a bus trip, everyday there will be walking trips to local businesses to learn what the City of Mustang has to offer. The youth will participate in organized sports, arts & crafts, free play and much more. The youth will be swimming at the Mustang Aquatics Center approximately three times per week. A swim test will be conducted to determine the location where your child will be allowed to swim. Each week will revolve around a theme. Morning and afternoon snacks and most all excursions are included at no extra cost. A sack lunch, a re-fillable water bottle and sunscreen will need to be brought to camp every day.

 

Camp is for making new friends. Please do not ask that your child be put in the same group as a friend. There is no guarantee that friends will be put in the same group. 

 

Requirements: The child (ren) attending camp must have just completed Kindergarten through the Sixth grade of the school year just completed. A copy of immunization records must be turned in with registration forms. Only custodial parents/guardians can register their child(ren) up for the camp. If there is a court ordered file for custody of the child (ren), a copy must accompany the registration forms. All New 2008 Camp Mustang Parents/Guardians who sign a child up for camp must attend a Mandatory Parents Meeting scheduled for Thursday, May 29th the time is from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (the meeting has ended earlier in the past, we are allowing extra time for any new parents with questions). If the Parent/Guardian does not attend the meeting their child’s spot for camp is forfeited.  No Exceptions will be made. The Parent/Guardian will receive a letter reminding them on the date for the meeting.

 Camp Fees

$25.00 REGISTRATION FEE FOR EACH CHILD ENROLLED

1 Child:       $  85.00 per week

2 Children: $155.00 per week

3 Children: $215.00 per week

 

The above fees include the following:

1. Weekly Bus Trips (however, you may send extra money for gift shops, etc.)

2. Admission into the Mustang Community Center

3. Admission into the Mustang Aquatics Facility (you may want to send extra money for the concession stand when your child (ren) is at the Aquatics Facility)

4. Guest Speakers

(The only other time you will need to send extra money is if your child goes to out to lunch, or if your child's group will have a "special party" pizza, ice cream, snow cones, etc.)

 

When you return your registration forms, you also need to submit a one time $25.00 per child registration fee. This is a NON-REFUNDABLE fee that will secure your child’s spot for Camp Mustang. The non-refundable registration fee will not be applied to any week of camp. Make checks payable to: CITY OF MUSTANG. No spaces will be held without the registration form and the deposit being completed.

 

Once we received your registration and registration fee, a Welcome letter and payment coupon's will be mailed to you. The coupon's must be used when making payments each week your child or children are attending camp. When completing the coupon, be sure to put your child's name (first & last) on it.

 

Hours of Operation & Staff Ratio: The Summer Program will run Monday – Friday 7:00 A.M. – 6:00 P.M.  Kindergarten through Sixth grades of the School Year just completed! The Summer Program is limited to a total of 100 children. Staff ratio will be 1 Youth Counselor to every 10 to 15 children (depending on age group).

 

Weekly Themes: Our themes will show the youth a summer filled with excitement, fun, games and new experiences.  We know that by the end of the program the youth will have made many new friends and have a new awareness of their Mustang community.

Conditions for Enrollment

    1. You must complete a registration form for your child (ren) to attend camp, if we do not have a completed registration form your child is not registered for camp. Your deposit guarantees enrollment at camp. Please do not wait to register as we anticipate camp to fill quickly. Only custodial parents/guardians can registrer a child for the camp.
    2. All Parents/Guardians will need to attend a mandatory Parent’s Meeting, the Parent Handbook will be covered.  If you do not attend, your child’s spot will be forfeited. No Exceptions can/will be made.
    3. Camp tuition must be paid the week prior to each week your child (ren) is attending camp. Payments are due each Wednesday for the following week.  For example, if your child is attending the week of June 2nd, fees are due at the Community Center no later than May 28th, or you will incur a late payment fee. For your convenience, once registered you will receive payment coupon's with due dates and fees due for each week your child attends camp. Camp fees may be paid by cash, check or credit card (Mastercard or Visa). However, credit card payments can not be taken at the camp site, payment must be made at the Rec.Center.
    4. There is a $2 per day fee for all late payments not received by due date and $25 on any returned checks, plus the original amount of the check.
    5. There are no refunds or credits will be given for any days missed.
    6. Camper must be in good health and return the health history form on the first day of camp.
    7. There is a $1.00 per minute late fee for any child picked up after 6:00, this is to be paid when your child is picked up.
