Zoning Regulations
Zoning regulations encourage the most appropriate use of land, maintain and stabilize the value of property, reduce fire hazards and improve public safety, decrease congestion and prevent incompatible adjacent land uses. They are designed to protect the public health, safety and welfare of property owners in the community.
Zoning regulations govern use, density and lot layout to encourage safe and orderly development of land. The zoning regulations for the City of Mustang can be found in Chapter 122 of the Mustang Municipal Code.

The Planning Commission and City Council will hold hearings to approve or disapprove all zoning requests. For re-zoning, special use permit and conditional use permit applications, a public hearing is required. A notice must be published in the newspaper for 15 days prior to the hearing date, and a letter is sent out by city staff to all property owners within 300-foot who are listed on the certified list provided by the applicant. The process typically takes 6 weeks to 2 months.
