Fireworks Information - When Permissible (Dates, Hours, etc.)
The discharge of consumer fireworks is permitted only between the hours of 3:00 PM and 10:00 PM for the period of June 27, 2023 through July 4, 2023 with the exception of July 4, 2023 when the hours shall be 9:00 AM through 11:00 PM. Discharge of fireworks is totally prohibited during all hours from July 5, 2023 through the following June 26, 2024. Discharge of display fireworks or other fireworks shall be prohibited at any time. Note: Fireworks may not be discharged in Wild Horse Park during the Fire Department's annual Freedom Celebration on June 24, 2023.
Location: All visitors to the City of Mustang whose intent is to discharge consumer fireworks are encouraged to go to Wild Horse Park (1201 N Mustang Rd.) to discharge their fireworks. It shall be unlawful to explode or ignite fireworks within 500 feet of any church, hospital, asylum, unharvested flammable agricultural crop, public school, a place where fireworks are stored, sold, or offered for sale. Firework discharge is prohibited in a commercial parking lot without the permission of the building owner.
No person shall ignite or discharge any article of fireworks within or throw any article of fireworks from a motor vehicle, nor shall any person place or throw any ignited article of fireworks into or at such a motor vehicle or at or near any group of people.
Prohibited fireworks: Bottle rockets, stick rockets, cherry bombs, M-80’s, aerial luminaries (sky lanterns), or any combination thereof or any fireworks not properly labeled as Division 1.4. Prohibited fireworks found can be confiscated and turned over to the County Sheriff.
