The City of Mustang will be providing an "Employee Spotlight" each month so that citizens can learn more about the public servants that contribute to our City running smoothly. The Employee Spotlight will feature answers to a series of questions about the selected employee, the department and position they serve in, and unique likes and interests of the employee.
The November Employee Spotlight is Kathi Lowrance, Library Clerk.
How long have you worked for the City of Mustang? I've been at the Library for 15 years. I started as a sub and moved to a permanent part-time employee when the city approved 2 part time positions.
Where were you born? I was born in New Orleans, Louisiana at Ocshner Hospital.
How long have you lived in Mustang? I've never lived in Mustang proper, mostly in "no man's land" around the city.
Are you married? If so for how long? Children? I've been married to Jeff Lowrance for 31 years & we have 3 children, all grown and mostly gone!
What do you enjoy the most about working for the City of Mustang? I've always been a people-person so I love being part of the small-feel community.
What project have you been a part of while employed by the City of Mustang that you enjoyed the most? My main job duty at the library is Inter-Library loans....finding materials for our patrons that we do not own. I find it a great challenge. I am very happy when I'm able to acquire the item(s) they've requested.
Favorite Food? Favorite food has to be chips/salsa!
Favorite Recording Artist? Phil Collins!!!!
Do you have a secret skill or talent? Secret skill....probably could eat my weight in chips & salsa!
Its been rumored that you love to travel. What is your favorite or most unique place you have visited? I've been very fortunate to travel to many exciting and beautiful places in my life but recently decided my favorite is the island of Aruba .
