The City of Mustang is currently requesting voluntary water conservation measures from Mustang utility customers. When everyone uses water at once, it strains the water system's ability to store water. The water demand has increased by over 300% within the last week. By taking voluntary steps to reduce water usage, the system will be able to catch up with the hot weather demand.
REQUEST OF RESIDENTS & BUSINESSES

Watering between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., times of low water demand. Most of the water evaporates when watering during the day.
This recommendation pertains to outdoor irrigation systems. While hand watering of landscaping and gardens can be done anytime, it's recommended to do so in the early morning or late evening to avoid evaporation.
Water supply is critical to maintaining fire protection, among other essential services. Thank you for taking measures to ensure a healthy water system. Efficient water usage minimizes waste and ensures the health and sustainability of our water system.
