Certificate of Achievement for Excellence to Financial Reporting

The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the City of Mustang for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2016.  This was the nineteenth consecutive year that the City of Mustang has achieved this prestigious award.  The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

The financial report is intended to update the City Council and the citizens of Mustang on the status of the City's financial position and results of operations for the past fiscal year ending June 30, and has been prepared in the compliance with all requirements of the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB).

The financial statements have been audited by Anne Marie Elfrink, CPA.  The independent auditor concluded, based upon the audit, that there were no material weaknesses identified or audit findings.

GFOA has presented the City of Mustang this Award of Financial Reporting Achievement for 24 consecutive years.
