On April 22, 2010, Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt announced a three-phased approach to reopening the Oklahoma economy - a link to all of the specifics of this plan can be found at the bottom of this page.  It is the City of Mustang's intent to follow the plan announced by Governor Stitt as much as possible moving forward.  In following that plan, the City of Mustang will permit the following to occur on the dates outlined below:

Friday, April 24, 2020

  • Personal care businesses, such as hair salons, barbershops, spas, nail salons, pet groomers, and tanning salons can reopen for appointments only.  Sanitation protocols and guidelines posted on the Oklahoma Department of Commerce regarding social distancing between customers and visitors of a personal care business shall be strictly followed and enforced.

Friday, May 1, 2020

  • Restaurants and entertainment venues can operate using CDC-recommended social distancing and sanitation protocols.  A link to this information can be found at the bottom of the page.
  • Gyms can reopen provided they adhere to the CDC-recommended social distancing and sanitation protocols.
  • Places of worship can reopen for in-person meetings or worship if they leave every other row or pew open and adhere to CDC-recommended social distancing and sanitation protocols AND the recommended guidelines from the Oklahoma Department of Commerce.
  • Tattoo establishments can reopen for appointments only and must adhere to sanitation protocols and social distancing protocols for distancing between customers and visitors.
  • Retail establishments may reopen and are encouraged to follow social distancing guidelines. 

Friday, May 15, 2020

  • Bars can operate with diminished standing-room occupancy, where applicable and appropriate, and under social distancing and sanitation protocols.
  • Funerals and weddings can resume under social distancing protocols
  • Children's nursery areas in places of worship can reopen.
