Today, to prevent confusion with the possibility of severe weather, we will be canceling our audible tests of our storm sirens. Our system will continue to do its silent tests to check communication and readiness twice a day.

Special thanks to the Mustang American Legion Post 353 for conducting this morning's short remembrance ceremony for Peace Officer Memorial Day. Peace Officers Memorial Day and Police Week is an observance that pays tribute to the local, state, and federal peace officers who have died, or who have been disabled, in the line of duty. It is celebrated May 15th of each year.

Happy Mother's Day to all the incredible moms and mother figures! Your love, strength, and guidance light up our lives. Today we celebrate you!

Brian Grider has resigned his position as Mayor for the City of Mustang. His resignation letter is provided below.
Mustang’s Charter requires a Special Election be conducted when there is a vacancy in the office of the mayor. Staff will be reviewing the steps that need to occur to call for that election and the available dates to do so.

We have cancelled the noon siren test to prevent any confusion in anticipation of the storms that may approach our city. As always, it's never too late (or early) to make preparations for where and what you are going to do in severe weather events.

Not to be outdone by the Finance Department, we have the Library, Community Development, Police and Support Services all joining in on the fun for Thunder Tuesday! You're either a Thunder fan or you're losing!

📞✨ Happy National Telecommunicators Week! ✨📞
This week, we celebrate the unsung heroes behind the scenes—our telecommunicators! These dedicated professionals are the heartbeat of emergency response systems, providing vital support to first responders and ensuring our safety every day.
🌟 Here are a few reasons why they matter:
1. **Lifeline in Emergencies**: They are the first point of contact during critical situations, guiding individuals to safety.
2. **Calm in Chaos**: Their ability to remain calm under pressure helps to de-escalate crises, providing reassurance when it’s needed most.
3. **Expert Problem Solvers**: Telecommunicators are trained to quickly assess a situation and coordinate response efforts efficiently.
4. **Community Connection**: They bridge the gap between the public and emergency services, fostering trust and communication.
Join us in recognizing and thanking these dedicated individuals for their devotion and hard work. 💙🙌

Top of the Mornin' to You!
While our City Manager believes this should be an official holiday, unfortunately for him it is not. Nevertheless, we hope you have a terrific St. Patrick's Day!

Spring forward tonight before going to bed...and don't forget to change those smoke detector batteries while you are at it!
