The City of Mustang provides a " Spotlight Employee" each month so that citizens can learn more about the public servants that contribute to our City running smoothly. The Spotlight Employee will feature answers to a series of questions about the selected employee, the department and position they serve in, and unique likes and interests of the employee.
The April 2026 Spotlight Employee is Norma Brown of the Fire Department.
How long have you worked for the City of Mustang? 13 years.
Where were you born? (Hospital is not a permitted answer) Norwalk, California.
Where do you live and how long have you lived there? I have lived in Mustang for 36 years.
Are you married? Do you have any children? I've been in a relationship with Ken for 11 years. I have three beautiful adult children, four precious grandchildren, and two bonus twin grandsons.
What do you enjoy the most about working for the City of Mustang? Knowing that everything I/we do is for the citizens of our community, which my family is part of as well.
What project have you most enjoyed being a part of while working for the City of Mustang? The Firefighter Freedom Celebration, Fundraisers for our department, Fire Chiefs Conference preparations, and most importantly, being a part of our Peer Support Group.
Favorite Food? Depends on the mood, but usually Mexican.
Favorite Recording Artist? Sade.
Do you have a secret skill or talent? Photography, Drawing, and Painting.
Working in and with Emergency Services can oftentimes be viewed as a somewhat stressful situation. How do you manage stress associated with your position? Deep breaths, Epsom salt baths, meditation, grounding, and a lot of Sage.
