Happy Coast Guard Day!

Today we celebrate the US Coast Guard - and the man who got this whole operation started: back on August 4, 1790 - Alexander Hamilton.

Yes, that Hamilton. Before he was throwing down political arguments and getting himself into all sorts of historical drama, he was busy creating the foundation for America's maritime service.

So today, raise a glass (preferably not while operating a boat) to Hamilton, the Coast Guard, and the men and women who have been Semper Paratus - "Always Ready" - for more than two centuries. Turns out Alexander Hamilton really did have a way with words, money...and boats.

Cindy received a cheesecake from our City Manager for sponsoring the team as well as a 1st Place trophy that will be presented to her later this week. Proceeds from the tournament benefit scholarships awarded by the Chamber of Commerce at their annual banquet in April each year.

Golfing for the City were Ward 1 Councilmember James Reddick (aka - The Fairway Assassin), Assistant City Manager Justin Battles (aka - The Pin Seeker), Community Development Director Ryan Conner (aka - The Green Machine), and Nic Bailey - Parks and Recreation Director (The Clubhouse Legend).

Congrats to all involved!.

💧 Did you know? According to the US EPA the average household loses more than 10,000 gallons of water every year to leaks. Even a small leak can waste 90 gallons or more every day, and a running toilet can waste thousands of gallons each month. With the EyeOnWater app, you can receive alerts when unusual water use is detected, helping you catch leaks early—before they become an expensive surprise on your utility bill.
