At yesterday's annual convention of the American Legion Department of Oklahoma, the City of Mustang received a Special Appreciation Award for its continued commitment to patriotism as a community through the "Avenue of Flags", Memorial and Veterans Day ceremonies, and its renowned Independence Day celebrations.
The award and certificate of appreciation were presented by Oklahoma Department Commander Hayden Woods and Award Chairman and Mustang resident Paul Ray.
We thank Mustang American Legion Post #353 for the nomination and thank all Veterans for their service. It was truly an honor and humbling to accept these awards and be recognized for this honor.
