The Mustang Police Department has received numerous calls in reference to a scam using the Department’s name and telephone number, (405) 376-2488. The caller informs the victim he is Sgt. David Gillmore with the Mustang Police Department and the victim has a “Federal Bench Warrant” as well as “warrants for sex trafficking” issued for their arrest. The caller uses personal information about the victim adding to the authenticity of the call. The caller requests the victim purchase bitcoin and transfer such to the caller to satisfy the warrant(s). The Mustang Police Department has no such person employed and we would never ask for bitcoin or any other payment over the phone to satisfy a warrant.

Don't forget to turn your clocks forward this evening before headed to bed as Daylight Savings time begins! Also a good idea to change the batteries in those smoke detectors while you are at it!

Beginning Thursday, January 25, 2024, the Emergency Signal in front of Fire Station #2 will be operational. Although this signal will only be activated when the Fire Department exits the station for an emergency, we ask that you be mindful of its operation. When it comes to any emergency every second is critical. This signal will help our firefighters shave critical seconds from every response.
