
At last night's City Council meeting, Mustang Aquatics Center Lifeguards were recognized by the leadership the Aquatics Center, and Parks and Recreation as well as the City Council for their performance in their duties as Lifeguards - specifically Rescue.
These are the people that make the Aquatics Center safe for all of its visitors and each one of them go through extensive training to do it. If you should happen to visit the Aquatics Center before the end of the season, please take the time to thank a Lifeguard for being the Angels in the Water.

This afternoon at their Annual Convention, Mustang Fire Department Lieutenant Levi Setliff was recognized as the Firefighter of the Year for 2024 by the American Legion Department of Oklahoma.

On Tuesday afternoon, a retirement reception was held for Ms. Lisa Martin, City Clerk, after 11+years of service to the City of Mustang. A large gathering of people attended to wish her well for a relaxing future.

SCAM ALERT!
The Mustang Police Department has received numerous calls in reference to a scam using the Department’s name and telephone number, (405) 376-2488. The caller informs the victim he is a police officer with the Mustang Police Department and the victim has a warrant issued for their arrest. The caller uses personal information about the victim adding to the authenticity of the call. The caller requests the victim go to a kiosk and put funds on a specific card and forward the funds to a specific location. The Mustang Police Department does not make requests such as this, so please do not fall victim to this type of scam.

This afternoon, a promotion ceremony was conducted for four Mustang Police Officers.
Beginning at the top left and moving clockwise, Officer Maurice Hawkins was promoted to the rank of Sergeant, while Sergeants Seth Roecker, Cody McDaniel and Derek Hunt were all promoted to the rank of Lieutenant.
Congratulations gentlemen!

The discharge of consumer fireworks is permitted only between the hours of 3:00 PM and 10:00 PM for the period of June 27, 2024 through July 4, 2024 with the exception of July 4, 2024 when the hours shall be 9:00 AM through 11:00 PM. NOTE: Fireworks are not permitted on June 29, 2024 anywhere in Wild Horse Park.

All City Offices - including the Library and Active Adult Center - are closed today.


The 55th Firefighters Freedom Celebration will be held on June 29, 2024. The celebration starts at 6:30 pm with fireworks at dusk. The location is Wild Horse Park at 1201 N Mustang Rd. This event is FREE to get into. There will be fire trucks, food trucks, a live DJ, the fire department's annual raffle, and much more family fun activities. Please come and join us for all the fun.
Note: The public is not permitted to discharge fireworks in Wild Horse Park on June 29, 2024.
